1857 — Alfred Binet was born. Binet is best known for the development of modern conceptions of, and tests for, intelligence. He was also interested in suggestibility and general experimental psychology. He was the director of the psychology laboratory at the Sorbonne from 1894 to 1911 and founder of the Laboratory of Experimental Pedagogy in Paris in 1905.
1941 — Leonard Bickman was born. Bickman and Joseph H. Grosslight planned the pivotal National Conference on Graduate Education and Training in Psychology that met in Salt Lake City in 1987. APA Award for Distinguished Education and Training Contributions, 1988.
1991 — The Ohio legislature passed a law extending hospital privileges to qualified clinical psychologists. Ohio was the sixth state to pass such a law.
