APA Historical Database: Selected Entries

On October 10:

1605 — King James I of England examined Anne Gunther, a supposed victim of witchcraft. Gunther's behavior, resembling the symptoms of conversion disorder, had attracted widespread attention. James found her "perfectly cured from her former weakness by a potion given unto her by a phisitian, & a tablet hanged about her neck."

1902 — Clark L. Hull began his "idea books". October 10, 1902 is the date of the second entry. The first was probably made on the 9th but is dated only "October, 1902." Hull recorded plans, theoretical ideas, research questions, and personal observations in his idea books throughout his life. His last entry, in his 73rd book, was made on April 21, 1952, 18 days before his death.
