1908 — Anne Anastasi was born. Anastasi is best known for her influential publications about the nature, formation, and accurate measurement of psychological traits of the individual. 1945 — Max Wertheimer's book Productive Thinking was published. The book describes a Gestalt psychology approach to problem solving and creativity.
1947 — The Educational Testing Service was chartered by the New York State Board of Regents. Henry Chauncey was the first president of the Educational Testing Service.
1986 — Reuben M. Baron and David A. Kenny's article "The Moderator-Mediator Variable Distinction in Social Psychological Research: Conceptual, Strategic, and Statistical Considerations" was published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.
1989 — The Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) was established by Congress in Public Law 101-239. The AHCPR administers health care guidelines for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illness. Guidelines for the treatment of depression, released on April 14, 1993, were among the initial seven sets of guidelines to be issued.
